Is Plane Sweeper Free? Pricing, Modes & What's Included
Short answer: yes, Plane Sweeper is free to play — on the web and on iOS. There's no purchase required to jump into a match, and there never will be a pay-to-win mechanic. Below is exactly what that means, how we make money, and what (if anything) costs.
What's free
- Every game mode. Ranked PvP, solo practice vs AI, and private matches are all included at no cost.
- The full core loop. Deploy, duel, and climb the ladder — nothing is locked behind a paywall.
- Cross-platform play. Play in any modern browser or on iOS with the same account.
- Updates. New modes, balance changes, and performance work ship to everyone for free.
What (if anything) costs money
Right now, nothing required to play. We may eventually offer optional cosmetic extras — a different grid theme, a profile flair — that are purely visual and never affect balance or your odds of winning. We'll always keep the game fully playable without them.
Is it pay-to-win?
No, and that's a deliberate principle. In Plane Sweeper, the only thing that moves you up the ranked ladder is how you play. We don't sell advantages, extra information, or "revives." Winning is supposed to feel earned, and we think that's what makes the game worth coming back to.
How do we make money, then?
We keep the game free by showing advertising — currently through Google AdSense. We do this as unobtrusively as we can: ads don't block the game, and we explain exactly what's collected in our Privacy Policy, including how cookies are used. If you ever have a question about this, the contact page is open.
Do I need to pay to remove ads?
We haven't launched a paid ad-free tier yet. If enough players ask for one, we'll consider it — but any such option will be optional and will never be the only way to enjoy the game.
The bottom line
Plane Sweeper is free, skill-based, and respects your time. Open the link and you're in a match within seconds — no card, no download, no catch.
